How the Week Works

Set your intentions. Get to work. Get unstuck.

The SBOC work week.

The Small Business Owners Community runs on a weekly rhythm.

Monday. Set your weekly goal.

Tuesday. Show us what you’re working on.

Wednesday. Get to work with community co-working.

Thursday. Our signature event, the Idea Slam. One owner brings a real problem. Owners who’ve been there share what worked, what didn’t, and what you might be missing. There’s a written recap after, inside the group.

Friday afternoons. The Finish Line. Wins, losses, asks and offers, and blowing off steam before the weekend.

All of it on Zoom, so it works wherever you are.

Every weekday there’s the show, Businessing with Pat Miller, where I help you figure out what to do next. Once a month you’re matched with one owner you don’t know yet for Coffee Club, thirty minutes, no agenda, and there’s a networking meetup for new members. Once a year there’s the SBOC Conference, three days, the whole group in one room.

What $9 gets you.

  • The opportunity to bring a weekly problem to the Idea Slam, and a written record when we’re done.
  • Curated one-on-one networking through a monthly Coffee Club match.
  • The Friday Finish Line, every week.
  • A 24/7 message board where you can ask a question and get answers from owners who’ve been there.
  • The legal, tech, and bookkeeping hotlines, owners in the group who do this for a living.
  • The member directory.
  • An instant introduction to your Welcome Buddy for your first 30 days in the group, someone who can help you build relationships and feel at home.

Who it's for.

People who own a business. Solo, or a team of twenty. Anywhere in the country. If you sign the checks and it’s yours when it goes wrong, it’s for you.

Who it isn't for.

  • Not employees, and not someday founders

Owners only talk honestly about money and managing people when they know the rest of the group understands.

  • Not anybody whose first move is a pitch

Everyone here has something to sell. Our rule is help first, and once we build relationships, we can do business together.

  • Someone who isn't ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work

This is a working group, not a shelf full of classes and theory. Let's get you moving on what you need to get done right now.

Three rules of the SBOC.

Same for everyone, from day one.

Bring what you’re stuck on.

Show up and help.

Check in once a week to support your fellow members.

I just want to say how amazing this group is. I’m in my third week and I’ve gotten so much from this group already by just showing up to events. Today was a power packed day! Thank you all!
