Why Are the Best Business Owners Adopting AI First?

Last updated October 23, 2026

Originally aired Thursday, April 2, 2026. Businessing is now a weekly show with a new episode every Monday.

Short answer: The owners who adopt AI first are the ones who want to get better. They aren't satisfied with where they are, so they look for every advantage to move faster and do more. Owners who are content drifting along tend to wait. If you want to grow, get around people who are already putting AI to work.

It was open line Thursday, and the day ran loose and fun. I shared how nervous I got watching the Artemis II launch, and why. My April Fools AI video of Steve Jobs at our conference turned into a pile of requests, and it became one of my best LinkedIn posts of the week. Stephanie Kern came on to launch a sticker club, including a WTF Claude sticker, after a year of friendly pushing from me. She also shared how she's interviewing past clients to learn their pain points. For the AI story, I talked about a lawsuit alleging Perplexity shared chat data, and why I now assume nothing online is private. Then I finally figured out why the A players adopt AI first.

Businessing is the weekly show where small business owners figure out what to do next, with a new episode every Monday. Hosted by Pat Miller, founder of the Small Business Owners Community: owners only, nobody pitching, $19 a month.

Key takeaways

  • Try a playful, clearly-a-joke video post on LinkedIn, since fun content can outperform your usual posts.
  • Interview past clients about their pain points, then use what they say in your marketing and social posts.
  • Assume anything you type into an AI tool may not stay private, and decide what you won't share.
  • Look at who in your network is picking up AI first, and spend more time around those people.
  • If a friend keeps talking about an idea, keep nudging them, because friendly pressure can get it launched.

Questions this episode answers

Why do some business owners adopt AI faster than others?

The owners who move first are the ones who want to get better. They aren't satisfied with where they are and want every advantage to move faster and make more money. People who are fine drifting along tend to wait.

Are my conversations with AI tools private?

Don't count on it. A lawsuit filed at the time alleged Perplexity shared chat data with other companies, even in incognito mode, though that was only an allegation. The safer habit is to assume that when a tool is free, you're the product.

Can a fun or silly post work for my business on LinkedIn?

It can. Pat's April Fools AI video was clearly a joke, people played along and asked for more, and it became one of his best posts of the week. Fun content invites people to join in.

How do I figure out what my customers struggle with?

Ask past clients directly. Stephanie Kern is interviewing past clients about their presentations to learn their pain points. She plans to use what she hears in her marketing and social posts.

And good morning. It is Thursday, the 2nd of April. No longer April Fool's Day. So everything I say today, you need to take deadly serious, no lies. On today's show, we are Businessing. I'm Pat Miller, founder of the Small Business Owners community, and the Friday's Off Guy. So, hey, today is my last workday of the week and I've got that Friday Energy on today's show, and I'll tell you why.

I have so many things to show you and so many things we get to play with. Today, plus we're doing open line Thursday, which means I want you to call in and be a part of the show. I'm gonna drop into the chat, our link for you to call in and be a part of the show. You can use the QR code that's on your screen or the link that's in the chat, and I want you to come in and answer to today's question of the day.

And the question of the day is pretty simple. We've all got an answer for it. It's. Uh, what are you doing? What's one thing in your business you know, you should stop doing, but you just can't let go of? And we've all got one of those things. Just a bad habit. Maybe it's something we're still doing, we don't wanna be doing anymore. Answer that question. Come on the show with me, live today. And, uh, we'll probably also celebrate some wins and goof around a little bit. We do have our live check-in tool that is up and running this morning, and that is the QR code right up here. It is live dot small business community.com. And if you haven't seen it yet, this thing is so cool.

It gives us the chance to see who's watching the show live in real time. And you can also, if you put your LinkedIn uh, link there, you can connect with people and see who they are and what they do. Think about it. If someone's cool enough to watch the show, that's probably someone that you want to connect with. And someday, when we have 11 billion viewers, we'll have these little red dots all over the map. And I just think it's really fun. So humor me.

Live small business community.com and I would love to literally put your business on the map. So we got the live check-in tool. We've got the open line phone calls today, which I have on the screen at this moment. Uh, so we'd love to have you be a part of that as well. Should we start the show? Because I had something happen yesterday and I couldn't put my finger on it, and it dawned on me this morning. I am watching the Artemis launch. Okay. Artemis launch yesterday. It went up at 5 34 central time or something. And if you're of a certain age, watching space flight is really cool 'cause we've seen it before.

Space shuttle, we lived through the space shuttle era and the space shuttle used to go up all the time and it was cool 'cause we got to watch rocket launches and stuff. But I was watching the Artemis launch and I had this just knot in my stomach and I, I did not know why. And I'm on the treadmill and I'm walking and I'm walking and I'm walking and they got to 10 minutes out and they held the counter, like they stopped the count.

Like, what do you mean? They stopped the count and I kept on getting more and more anxious. They waited for like 15 minutes. Everybody checked in. Are we good? You good? You're good. You're good. We're all good. Great. They counted down. Boom. They shoot off Artemis two. There it goes. And I will tell you the whole time, this big, beautiful rocket doing the thing, if you are my age, what's the only thing you were thinking?

Please don't blow up. Please don't blow up. Please don't blow up. Please don't blow up because I am in Gen X. I am of the age. I was in third grade Mrs. Weber's class at Banner Elementary and Dunlap, Illinois, watching the space shuttle on a tv, the size of my desk that they rolled in. And it blew up, and it was the most traumatic thing I can ever remember, and I thought to myself, that's why I was so nervous yesterday.

I lived through that. Did anyone? Did you feel that way? Now, some of you aren't old enough. Some of you are, and if you are old enough, you probably, I know you remember that moment, but it definitely was with me yesterday. Fortunately, it went off without a hitch, and the astronauts are going around the planet right now. They're not on their way to the moon yet.

In fact, let's check in on the astronauts why there they are. There they are. They're that little white circle in the center, and they're gonna loop around Earth and then head out towards the moon. And what's so cool about this, this is the nasa.gov site that's tracking everything. And you can track it from, let's look at it from the moon's or the Earth's pr. There's the moon, right? There's Artemis. We can look at and see how far they have to go. Look at how far they have to go. Holy cow. I got worn out on the treadmill this morning for 20 minutes and these guys, uh, 10 days worth. So where are they?

See they're on the dark side of earth. They're gonna be looping around here, and then eventually they're gonna slingshot out. Oh, look at that. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, hey, there's the sun. Hi. How you doing? This is kind of cool. I didn't know it did this. You can see just how far they have to go. Isn't that cool? You can also see over here, there are cameras that sometimes work

now. I was playing with the cameras this morning like, wow, that's a really clear picture. Wow. Look at how neat that is. And then there's a thing that pops up that says, yeah, the cameras are a simulation, really. Simulation. That's what we get. They're going 2,900 miles an hour. They're 40,000 miles from earth. They have 231,000 miles to go. So they're gonna whip around the planet here. Let's see, zoom back out. Oh, zoom back out. Thank you very much. They're gonna whip around the planet and eventually, boom, they're gonna slingshot out towards the moon.

And as you would expect, and as you've heard, uh, the internet is undefeated. You know that the internet is undefeated and whenever anything happens that we're all in on, and it's not tragic, what does the internet do? It reacts and just has a beautiful time. So Space Balls. You remember? Space Balls? The movie. Then they made a new space Spaceballs movie. Well, they were joking around about it. And this, this just won the internet for me. It said now that Artemis two was launched, we have 10 days to get everyone on Earth a Planet of the Apes costume so we can do something hilarious.

I not kidding, belly laughed when I saw that tweet. I just had this picture of the astronauts getting off of their space shuttle, off of Artemis thinking, wow, we conquered the world. Look at us, and we're all okay. I know that's dumb, but that's the type of thing that made me laugh. So Artemis is off and running. I'll definitely be tracking it. Total 10 day mission. They're gonna loop around the moon and then head on back here as heroes. And rightfully, they should be celebrated as heroes, let's

say. Good morning to some folks that tuned in here this morning. Good morning, Barbara. Great to see you. Uh, Michael's here. Yes, they're going incredibly fast. 2,900 miles an hour. Great to see you as well. Who else is with us? Lisa Abels here. Stephanie Kern is here. Good morning. Uh, and yes, we have a viewer from Stream Boo, whoever you are, that must be spam. Uh, and Steve's here. Doris is here. Lovely to see everybody this morning as we basically goof around this morning.

And it is open line Thursday. So with all of you, lovely people with us, I would love to have you call in and answer today's question of the day. What's one thing in the business you know you should stop doing? Plus, we'll celebrate our wins on the air. So click the link, get in the line, and we will include you in the conversation here in just a few moments yesterday.

Well, there's some more news. I wanna hit a piece of news that's breaking this morning. DHS funding has been a thing now for quite some time. It was, uh, held up because, uh, the Democrats didn't wanna fund ice, so they said We're not gonna pass the DHS funding. So it's been unfunded. The DHS went without pay. Now they're getting paid, but the DHS funding bill still hasn't been passed this morning. The Senate said, okay, here's a deal and it went to the house. Yay. We're gonna have it fixed. No, we're not. There's a tweet out this morning that says, no, the house I is not gonna take up the bill right now. It's gonna stay shut down till Monday.

That's the last thing I saw before I went on the air. So if that's not right, let me know. But that is depressing because DHS should be funded and this is something that's been going on and on and on. I hope everybody can figure it out. Another piece of news that we need to share. As if everything was going so perfectly. I mean, things are great, right? Everything's going so smoothly. There's a tweet out this morning

that says, A highly mutated version of COVID-19 has been discovered. Yay. I mean, we have everything else figured out. We might just, you know what, just throw some COVID in there. Why not? Everything's just so good. We're not hanging on by a thread or anything. No, no. Bring on a terrible version of COVID and it's got an awful name too. They're calling it cicada. Just sounds gross. Like. Cicada, this version of COVID-19. It's been spread to 25 states, 23 countries. I'm sure that we could just easily take on that extra burden of COVID overwhelming us right now.

Sounds good. So if you get a sniffle, you start feeling bad. Just know it's waiting for you. Yesterday, on April Fool's Day, how did you do, did you get by April Fool's Day without having, getting gotten? Did that happen? Did you get gotten yesterday? I got half gotten by one tweet. It was two or three in the afternoon and I read something thought, oh, oh, April Fools.

I was half gotten, so I successfully got through the day without getting fully gotten. Which was great. Maybe you got half gotten and I had some fun yesterday in case you missed it. I announced the keynote speaker for the 2026 SBOC conference. Steve Jobs. There he is. And I just casually put that out. Hey, our keynote speaker is Steve Jobs and it was fun and people kind of knew it was AI and everyone kind of liked it and we kinda laughed and har har.

But here's where it got really fun. And I didn't anticipate this to happen. After I posted it, I started to get requests. Kyle Mack, member of the community said, Hey, uh, let's make the keynote speaker, uh, Dar Vader. Now it's my great honor to introduce our keynote speaker, speaker, Darth Vader. And I love that because Garth's Lightsaber goes away.

Watch this now. Honor. It's my great honor to introduce keynote speaker, Darth Vath Vader Boop. Nope, no, no, no Darth. No Darth Vader. Say lightsaber for you. And I'm like, oh, okay. That's kind of fun. We got some requests for the AI that we've been doing. That's kind of fun. But then there was more, Barbara said, Hey, why don't you make your keynote speaker a young Elvis?

And then he is gonna start dancing. I, I didn't anticipate that to happen. Isn't that fun? Yeah, I did all that with grs. Imagine if you haven't played with grs, imagine, uh, it's grok.com/imagine. It's a really fun tool and it was, uh, included in my Twitter plan 'cause I'm a Twitter addict and I pay for Twitter and it allows me to use it. And yes, that's kind of fun. So have some fun with the video. The other thing that surprised me. When I posted an April Fool's video and everyone was kind of in on the joke or horror, then the requests started to come, and the video that I posted on LinkedIn didn't get suppressed. I thought I was under the.

Idea that Twitter was gonna suppress, or, uh, LinkedIn rather was going to suppress anything like that. LinkedIn didn't. It's one of the best performing posts that I've had all week, which now my creativity is really running like, huh, I wonder what we can do by having fun with LinkedIn video. So anyway, I thought that was interesting and it was a lot of fun.

So thank you for the request. I didn't anticipate the request. Nikki says, I knew Elvis wasn't dead. That's right. Elvis isn't dead. He's coming to the conference. And Steve Jobs for the record, he's not dead either. Uh, both of those people are going to be at the conference. It's gonna be a great conference for sure. Alright, the check-ins are coming in here, so thank you to everybody that checked in. Uh, we've got a couple of people that checked in. We've got Kristen Atkins checked in. Lisa Abels here. Michael Cone. Lyn Razzi. Good morning. My friend Stephanie Kern is here as well. And oh, Stephanie. Oh, Stephanie, are you gonna come on the air and talk about how you started to create stickers?

I put the link in the chat people like four times. Are you just gonna let me talk to myself this morning? And if that's fine, that's okay. But I need to know if Stephanie Kern is gonna come on the air because she's got something that I wanna share. And while we just give you this last call as to whether or not you're coming on the air or not, there's one more internet find that I wanna share that just made my

day. It was put out as what was going to be an April Fool's prank, but it went so viral and it's so welcoming. You have to see it. Are you ready? It is Retro Weather Channel. Did you see Retro Weather Channel? This is the greatest thing ever. This is not videotape, this is live for this morning. Does the audio work? Does, let's see. Is this gonna work? Right? If

that the greatest, that's the greatest thing in history of anything. I would've this up on a monitor for days and it's, you can see here in the, the chats, the link doesn't just make you feel, I dunno, so great. Went bananas, bananas. People lost their mind. Now I need it to get to shut up. Okay. Shut up by the channel. Okay. You gotta go away. I love you. Okay, go away.

I couldn't get it to shut up. It's the greatest thing. And that is speaking of a trend. So a trend that we can all hop on is, uh, things going retro. Anything that you can do to make your stuff look retro is very, very hot right now. Very hot right now. Okay. Let's do this. Stephanie doesn't wanna come on the air. That's fine. And none of you do either. Chicken, fine. No big deal. I don't need you. I, I wanna share that. Bullying works.

Bullying works. If you say, ah, don't be a bully. Nah, eh, sometimes bullying works. And if you've been watching the show, you know that I have been bullying Stephanie. Who is the, the genius behind Vander Bloom and Creative? And we've been talking for how many years, Stephanie? Two, three years, about having you do a sticker club because we all have water bottles and we love to put stickers in our water bottles.

And I wanted to have Stephanie. Do a sticker club and, oh, look it, here she comes. Awesome. Stephanie, good morning. Thank you for joining us. Now, how long you bullied me into it? I did see, I bullied you again. This works. How long have I been bullying you about a sticker club? Probably a year, I think. Something, I don't know, maybe longer a. A long time and the concept is if we can get some of the, the

phrases that we use as small business owners and the stuff that we all think is funny, we'd get stickers in the mail every once in a while. Pretty simple concept. And can I share the design that you made? Oh my God, I'm so excited. Yes. Okay, so we're just having all of these things crash together where we've been bullying Stephanie to Stephanie to do a sticker club. And now that the show is on the air, we've been having fun building with AI and joking around. And one of the things that we played on the show last week, for those of you that have been paying attention is we shared WTF Claude.

We shared the video of the woman reacting to having her, uh, her website built in an afternoon by Claude, and it was a great video. And we've been saying every time Claude does something great, we've been saying WTF, Claude and Stephanie took action on it. WTF Claude, that, that is amazing. Stephanie, I want this sticker. What does it take to get the WTF sticker?

Yeah. Putting it together. So I'm gonna have them shortly, probably just seven stickers in a bag. So then I'm also working on, um, Claude Melted My Face. That's another one. And what is the other one I gave? What was the other one? This is the worst. It's, yeah, I have a list of other ones too. So if anybody has other one, they can think so. That'll be one of my stickers in there from my company as well. So avoid the rabbit hole.

Absolutely. And on the back. So that's the other one. All of your contact information on the back so we can hire you. And we need graphic design. I think it's brilliant. Don't you think that's brilliant? How? Okay. If we wanna subscribe to the sticker club, we're spinning this up right now. Uh, first of all, if you see this and think, I wanna be in the monthly sticker club, put in the chat, I wanna be in the monthly sticker club. Let's get her 10 subscribers straight away. But, uh, how much are you gonna sell this?

What is, what are you gonna do here? My assistant, uh, created the whole thing for me. Claude, that is so, I'm, I'm finalizing that gave me some ideas for, you know, if I do it quarterly, yearly, pay up rent, or that kind of thing. So it's roughly about, I think five, maybe five for each one for a pack of 10. Seven. Seven. I think I'm doing seven or so. Yeah. I, if I'm gonna do it monthly or like.

$5 a a, a payment or $5 a sticker? No per payment. 'cause you can get bundle per payment because they'll come and look back. Yeah. All right, so I can cover printing and, um, and nailing. Yeah, I wanna be in the sticker club. Me, me, me. I wanna be in the sticker club. And now I know Nick, just like the, here comes all of the ideas. Nikki is asking for Pivot. We probably should have a pivot sticker down

there. Yep. I'm working on Pivot as well. So you already, you already know writing these down, Steve. We, we hatched the term entrepreneur the other day. That would be a good one. Like a poop emoji entrepreneur. That would be fantastic. Good call Steve. I appreciate that. Yeah, that's great. And Steve is in on the sticker. Okay, so we have customers. Okay, so we need to somehow get in touch with you, drop your email in the chat, and you know, while we have you, this is a big celebration that you're starting the sticker club and it's also a celebration that bullying works.

You got any other celebrations you wanna share in the business? Something else good you can tell us about what's going on. Well, I had my friend. First interview for someone that, um, I'm sorry. I wanted interview past clients on PowerPoint presentations when they do themselves or with me just to get their pain points so that I can start marketing more and providing more full service for the PowerPoint design so that, so yeah, I did send one to you and I.

Right invite, but I haven't heard back from you. Not that you have to see. I'm bullying you. So you have, you're bullying enough. This is, uh, boomerang bullying happening live on the air. And the concept here is that you're gonna help people's PowerPoint, uh, presentations not be terrible. Is that correct? Yes. In, in, in a way, yes. But also author. Be such a traditional PowerPoint. What are some other creative things that we, interviewing other people, done PowerPoints on their own, or I kind of get there how I can help people more efficiently or more complete. I'm looking for, I can't think of what it is, but just, yeah, and then use that content for social media and for writing, um, news.

So, yeah, pulling from the field. That's fantastic field. I love it. Yeah, I love it. I, oh, that's another one. It works. And I like that bullying works. Yes, it does. It brings me infinite joy to know that you're doing the sticker club and I'm in, I'm subscribing. You need to subscribe as well, but get your link or your email in the chat so we can start collecting people.

And when you see Stephanie's email in the chat, uh, send her an email and say that you're in for the sticker club, Stephanie. Thanks. Appreciate it. Yeah, the one that works. Email. That works. This is, yeah. Oh, no, no kidding. Yeah, she's going through email. Hell, thank you Stephanie. I appreciate you coming on the air. I know. Isn't this great? That is just great. WTF, Claude. It's just, and that's exactly what happens. WTF Claude happened when I made the businessing check-in map. I'm gonna tell you this story, this map, Nikki and I were brainstorming, what should we do? How should this work? What if we could have this heads up display of where everyone is watching from and Michael and Nikki and all of our folks in Wisconsin and people all around the country, and what if it could show anyone that's watching either live or through the podcast?

So we drop this link into the podcast link, and then every 24 hours it wipes the map so you can see who is tuned in within 24 hours. What's cool about this is. If you asked me to code this, it would be like a dog looking at a ceiling fan. Like, I have no idea. I don't even know, like, do I use this? Like, do I use a hammer? Do I stand on one leg? Do I need an umbrella? I, I, I don't know how to do that. I just had to tell Claude, and I'm telling you, it drafted it the first time I asked it. Now we had to tweak it a little bit. When it was done, it was seriously A-W-T-F-C Claude moment. I just, I couldn't believe it. It was unbelievable.

So it makes me infinitely happy, happy that Stephanie made us that sticker and that we've bullied her into doing the sticker club, which is gonna be so much fun. And, uh, hopefully you're gonna become a subscriber. So definitely get in the email, uh, Stephanie, so we can all send you our money. Very cool. We have our AI story of the day coming up, which we're definitely going to do.

Uh, and uh, we've got a thought around the AI story of the day. Uh, I don't expect privacy anymore because one of the tools that was supposed to be private turned out, oops, it wasn't private. And I have a new insight as to why. Only the A players in my network are taking AI seriously. Everyone else is kinda looking at it, but like the real smart kids like the honor roll, they are all in on it.

I think I figured out why. We'll talk about it after we say thanks to today's sponsor. So of course our friends at Gen Head, if you're running your business and you want it to be easier, if you have a bunch of technology, but it's located all over God's green earth and you wish it could all be inside one window where it just talks to itself. It's all connected from your email. Your text messages to your sales funnels, to your websites, to your CRM. It has AI agents baked in to make it all easier. Gen Head is the play Gen head will make your life simple so you're not scaling chaos of disorganized information. Gen Head has got you and it's so advanced it can do anything, but you don't need to hire someone to drive it.

It is a really terrific piece of software that can do way more than you can even dream up, so that way you get clear data and clear results all in one place. You no longer need to go all over the internet To make your business work, you just need gen head.com. We use it here at Home Base. And if you don't have a CRM yet, or if you have one and it sucks, check out Gen head.com.

You'll get a full demo from the Gen Head team and they will welcome you on board gen head.com. It's gen head.com. Thank you for being a sponsor of the show. And honestly, Mickey and the team have been outstanding collaborative partners as we're putting this show on the air. I really app appreciate how much they've been doing to make this show go. AI's story of the day, I have reached a point where I've just thrown in the towel on expecting any privacy anywhere. Ever. I'm just done. I mean, I'm not gonna do the show with my shirt off and like, you know, like I, no, nobody needs to see that. But if we're going to use software and we're gonna be all over the internet, we just have to assume our privacy isn't going to be respected.

And the reason why I know that today is that Perplexity, one of the AI companies that sure seemed. Maybe it's the case, but sure seemed to be one of the companies that was out there taking privacy and user rights seriously. Well, they just got sued for secretly sharing your chat data with Meta and Google. According to the lawsuit. Now this is not confirmed, so this may not be true, but there's a lawsuit out there alleging that's fair to report. The lawsuit is alleging that there are hidden trackers baked into perplexity and they are actively collecting your information and sharing it with meta and Google.

Even when incognito mood or mood mode is on. It's always collecting your stuff and it's sharing it. And then your conversations are used for third party retargeting. This is according to the lawsuit. I'm not saying they're doing it. This is an allegation. That's why I'm reporting it. Don't sue me. So there's a lawsuit in Utah that's going after that, and if you're using AI tools for the business, they may not be as private as you think, and what a nightmare that is.

Think of all the stuff you've told your ai. I mean, Claude's, my bro, we've had some deep talks. According to the buttons that I've been clicking, it's not being used to train my models and it's, it's all private, but is it, and do you expect privacy when you talk to your AI models? I think I've kind of given up on that. And the other thing that I think is not only have I given up on the idea of my AI models keeping my stuff private, you also realize that we've spent 15, 20 years. Freely giving away our data to anyone just for incremental conveniences. As I talked on the show, yesterdays IRI is listening to me right now.

Right now. Hi honey. How are you? Yes. You never work. IRII can call it honey 'cause I, it uses a female voice. I would call it serve. You get it. But SIRI is listening to me right now and I have a Facebook account. They make no bones outta the idea of scraping your entire life and reselling it, and retargeting Google exists in my email and all of my docs are in there.

So what privacy should I expect? The famous saying that I think rings so true is if something's free, you are the product and Gmail and Facebook and Instagram and everything. Has made us the product. I'm gonna keep an eye on this. Michael's got takes come on perplexity. I use that all day long for non Claude stuff. I know. I was really disappointed in perplexity for sure, but it's

just an allegation it might not be true. I figured out why the A players are participating in adopting AI straight away. I've been scratching my head this whole time because I launched the AI installation group a week from today. I'm leading a, a group of entrepreneurs through a mastermind, and we're gonna meet every month, twice a month for six months and learn how to use Claude Cowork to start automating our business, which will end up in AI agents now, or as soon as Claude launches them, which should be in about 10 minutes.

That way you can move faster, get more stuff done. But what was funny is, is I've been jumping up and down about AI for now two years, three years. My first chat, GPT talks, 'cause I was out doing talks, was March of 2023. So I've been talking about AI now for three years, and the people that engage with me about ai, the curious ones. They are the A players and as soon as last week I was saying on the air, how come it's only the A players that want to pick up this AI stuff and run with it? And it hit me this morning because the A players are the ones that wanna get better. The A players are the ones that aren't satisfied with where they are.

They're not doing the bare minimum to get by. The A players know there's a higher level they can get to, so they want every advantage they can get. They wanna get better, they wanna move faster, they wanna make more money. That's what a players do. And I thought, huh? That makes so much sense. That's why the people that have signed up for the AI group are the A players.

This was the tweet that unlocked it for me. You have to understand that most people don't wanna do jack shit. No matter how advanced AI gets. They don't wanna do even the work they get paid for. They wanna scroll and brain rot and gossip and be involved in drama. Use this to your advantage unless you are one of them. And I thought. Man, that's a banger. He is right on with that. That people don't wanna get better, that people don't want to go higher and faster. They just, they, they're satisfied with where they are. And that really hit me. I thought that is, that is excellent insight. So if you are a B player, or what do they call it?

Non-player character, NPC. If you're an NPC and you're fine, just drifting along doing what you're doing, cool. Keep doing it. If you want to install AI and go further faster, then you need to get involved in the AI installation group and right. Howard, did that hit you too? Good morning, sir. Thanks for tuning in. It was one of those wow moments for me as well. If you wanna move faster. AI installation group kicks off. One week from today, we're gonna get together and do our mastermind, our very first mastermind where we're loading up Claude Cowork and getting everybody off and running. Then we're gonna get together two weeks later and we're gonna do an AI slam.

The AI slam is gonna be an idea slam everybody comes and shares what they're doing and ask questions about where they're stuck and where they might need some help. I'm also gonna do the AI trends letter, and I'm gonna get back to people in real time. Uh, so if you need a text support or you need an email support, you can reach out to me when you get stuck using cla.

It's time to install AI and get it working for us. So if you wanna participate, the link is in the chat. Scan the QR code. We step off one week from today. And yeah, Howard, that did hit me absolutely because that's where we're going. You have to be in a situation where I love my business, but I know that I can do more. I know that I can go further. This is a great reminder. How are we doing on the map here today? We've had so many people Check in. How many? Look at this. Lynn, Stephanie, Nikki, awesome. If you're watching the show on replay, you can still check in. It's live dot small business community.com, live dot small business community.com, and I'm gonna be using the map in real time throughout the show.

Does anybody have something to talk about? Alright, Stephanie? Yeah. Lynn says, good morning. Good morning Lynn and Stephanie wanted to share her stickers. That bullying works. That makes my day. Let's wrap up the show with this. I do have a tweet of the day, even though I've shared two tweets already. Twitter was kind of on fire today at another laugh out loud moment that I wanted to share, which I think perfectly sends us off

into the weekend. Which many of you have a weekend, many of you are not working on. Good Friday, tomorrow, so you'll get to experience the Fridays off lifestyle because you don't have to work tomorrow. Many of you don't work already on Friday, but if you've been looking at what I'm doing, thinking Friday's off, guy, I'd like to be off on Friday. You get to experience it tomorrow and enjoy that three day weekend. So if you're getting together with your family and friends to celebrate, uh, I hope you have a great time. I get to go see my sister and her entire family and parents. It's gonna be awesome. So enjoy your Fridays off weekend. We'll end the week with this.

This is just hilarious. Modern life is simply loading and unloading the dishwasher until you die, and that's perfect. And it's so true. All right, we're gonna get outta here. Last thing to share for this week. If you're not on the wait list for the 2026 conference, uh, you may miss it. The Small Business Owners Community Conference is happening in the middle of September. It's our sixth year of getting together, and what's cool is that we have 200 seats available in the conference room, in the ballroom that we put up our big, beautiful stage with Steve Jobs and Darth Vader as our keynote speakers.

Of course. And we have 160 some odd members in the community right now. Plus we've got a bunch of people that are already on the wait list, and we've got our sponsors, and we've got our VIP tickets withheld, which means when the tickets go on sale, we will have 115 available. If you want a chance to get one of those tickets, you need to get on the wait list, which costs you nothing.

It takes 30 seconds, but if you're on the wait list, you'll get access to the tickets one day. Before the public. So it's a way to cut in line, the community gets to, uh, get their access to tickets. Then the wait list, then it goes to the general public. And we've had so much energy around the conference this year. I haven't even announced our keynote speakers yet, haven't laid out our conference agenda yet. It's gonna be awesome. Uh, I think it's really gonna accelerate. So get on the conference, wait list now, and you'll get a chance to buy tickets on May. 12. That does it for another week of Businessing with Pat Miller.

Thank you so much for playing along today, this interactive, fun, uplifting, like let's just have a good time and talk business. This is what we're going for and the fact that you're here with us playing along and having a good time, uh, I really appreciate you doing it. And again, one more shout out to Stephanie, WTF Claude. Man, I cannot wait to get that sticker here in the house. It's gonna be great. I'm Pat Miller, the Friday's off guy, founder of the small business owners community. We will be back here Monday, 11:00 AM Central for another edition of the show. Thanks for tuning in. We'll talk to you then. Have a great three day weekend.

Take care.

Nobody taught you how to run a business.

So you've been guessing, and guessing is the most expensive way to run a business.

The Small Business Owners Community is where small business owners get help from other owners: every week, a room full of owners works your problem with you. Owners only, nobody pitching, $19 a month. Come to an Idea Slam as a member’s guest · Join the SBOC · Watch the show
