Originally aired Monday, March 23, 2026. Businessing is now a weekly show with a new episode every Monday.
Short answer: Belief comes from proof, and proof comes from action. Decide what you do and who you do it for, then do that thing in small ways every day. Keep a simple tally each time you do it. At the end of the week, the count becomes evidence, and the evidence makes the claim feel true.
A viewer texted me that I help people value what they have and then share it boldly. That last part got me thinking. When you narrow down and claim you're the one who does a thing, it feels risky, and it's hard to believe. Today I shared a simple fix: act and track. Do your differentiator in small ways every day and tick a box each time. Evidence turns into belief. In the news, the Iran deadline delay and a market jump, ICE at airports, and Nebraska's March Madness run. I also played a viewer's WTF Claude moment. The Idea Slam covered closing without pressure and getting referrals without begging.
Businessing is the weekly show where small business owners figure out what to do next, with a new episode every Monday. Hosted by Pat Miller, founder of the Small Business Owners Community: owners only, nobody pitching, $19 a month.
Key takeaways
- Write down exactly what you do and who you do it for before you start telling the world about it.
- Do your differentiator in small ways every day, even at someone else's networking event or in an email intro.
- Keep a paper tally of every time you deliver on your claim, and count it up at the end of each week.
- On discovery calls, ask about the problem, the dream outcome, the timeline and the budget, then answer each one in your proposal.
- Earn referrals by exceeding expectations, then thank each referring client with a handwritten note or a personal gift.
Questions this episode answers
How do I get confident claiming what makes my business different?
Build proof by doing it. Pat's method is act and track. Do the thing you claim in small ways every day, tick a box each time, and count it at the end of the week. That evidence is what turns a claim into something you believe.
How do I close a sale without being pushy?
Do a better discovery call. Ask about the client's current situation, the outcome they want, what they've tried, how fast they need it, and their budget. Then show how your offer hits that outcome, on that timeline, in that budget. When they can see the problem solved, you don't have to convince them.
How do I get more referrals from my clients without begging?
First, be good enough to refer by delivering on your promises and going past what clients expect. Then build personal relationships and thank people when they refer you. Pat prefers a handwritten note or a thoughtful gift over paying a referral percentage, though a referral program works for some owners.
Worth quoting
Real belief does not come from going away to a cabin and manifesting for a weekend.

That's not belief. That's not proof. Proof comes with evidence, and evidence comes with action.

And good morning. It's Monday, March 23rd, and we are. Businessing, this is Small Business' Daily Live Show. I'm your host, pat Miller, the Fridays off guy and the founder of the Small business owners community. Thanks for tuning in this morning, sponsored by our friends at Gen Head. So grateful for their support.
We got stuff to cover today, boys and girls, because news is news for real. We have, uh, stuff happening with Iran and the markets are going. Vertical. We have giant market action this morning after some announcements from the president. We'll cover that in the news section. Two idea slam questions that we wanna get into today.
Uh, and today's, uh, AI story of the day is so good. We're gonna do something that I don't normally do on the show and that swear it is a swear worthy. AI story of the day. That's how good it is, and it's really special because the AI story of the day is an experience that you will have when you have your aha moment with ai.
Our main story is gonna be an exercise. We're gonna do an interactive thing about building confidence and becoming the person that you want to be as you manage change in the business, because change is simple. It's not easy. So we will talk through how to make a change and how to stand up for who you are in your business.
Now look at the A players that are here in the chat. Nikki, good morning my friend Barbara Meyer. Thank you for tuning in as well. And if you're with us this morning, drop your name into the chat and you get bonus points if you share your business. So tell us about your business, put in your hyperlink, and we'd love to give you some publicity here on the air.
All right. News is Newing. The straight of Horus deadline, which was supposed to be today, has changed. President Trump gave Iran a 48 hour deadline to open the Strait of Horus, or we were gonna hit their power plants this morning. He said that deadline was on hold. Why He says that to Ron and Washington dc They've been having productive conversations, so he's extended the deadline.
Until Friday, put it off for five days. So what does that mean? We're not gonna bomb your power plants. Maybe there's this kernel of truth that peace is looming, and as I've said a thousand times on the show, follow the money and the money this morning is going crazy. At last check, the DA was up over a thousand points, and upon announcement, the oil futures went straight down.
I think they went down eight or 9% immediately upon announcement. Looking at the price of crude oil, right now it is at $89 a barrel down 8.62% this morning on the announcement. Meanwhile, that's not helping gas prices. Gas prices are still surging and gas prices are going to lag. Good morning, Abby. Thanks for tuning in.
The national average of gas prices is now $3 and 91 cents the highest it's been. Since October, 2022, Goldman Sachs says the high prices could last through 2027. Yikes. But that's before the news broke this morning. So really, we don't know exactly what's happening with crude oil prices and the futures. It really depends on can we settle the war in Iran?
DHS is still not funded, which means TSA in the airports are still going crazy and you know, nothing better to calm down, an anxious air flying public than sending in ice. That'll chill everyone out. But that's what President Trump did. ICE is now at many of the airports, many, I think it's like 13. It's not all the airports, but there are ice agents at the airports this morning.
Now the administration says. Adding more officers will free up TSA people to do what TSA people should do. So more boots on the ground literally might make the TSA checkpoints go faster. Great. That's cool.
Also, uh, they're not wearing masks. That's something that people have been asking for. The ice agents inside the airports are not wearing masks, so if this turns out to be a good thing for TSA, it makes the wait times go faster.
Awesome. Plus one. Appreciate it. Uh, but we'll see Steve, Glenn's with us in the car, as we say, drive safely and. Great to see you, Leanne. Thanks for tuning in, really appreciate it. One thing I wanna share before we get into the rest of the news, if you're watching us on a platform other than LinkedIn or other than YouTube rather, I really recommend you click over to YouTube.
It's a much better experience. It's made for live streaming, and the chat doesn't lag as bad. So when I ask you a question and I'm looking for your feedback, like during the Idea Slam or something, the chat's a lot more responsive. So it's just a much better experience on YouTube. Scan the QR code and join us on YouTube.
Would be great to see you, Lynn. Cari, great to see you as well, my friend for a second time this morning, Lynn Cari was on the TV this morning promoting his new book. Make sure you drop in the chat link. Uh, Lynn the link to your new book. Congratulations. More news. And then we'll get into our lead story.
Nebraska, go Big Red. Made history in March Madness because Nebraska hadn't won an NCAA tournament game in 87 years. Well, over the weekend they won two and now they're on to the Sweet 16. Go Big red. Very exciting.
Where they will meet Iowa. Iowa. Upset the number one seed. Florida Gators last night. Awesome game.So Iowa and Nebraska.
We'll face each other Thursday night in the NCAA tournament, and here's what's really fun. The last perfect bracket was busted when Florida lost. It is so hard to have a perfect bracket, nearly impossible. That one of the sports books, I forget which one it was, DraftKings or whatever, Calci, whomever, one of them offered.
$1 billion if you could get a perfect bracket. That's how sure they are, that it's not going to happen. So last perfect bracket was busted. Dang right, Michael. Go Big red.
Absolutely. And I will maintain, Nebraska is a volleyball school. I'm just saying. I'm, I'm big fan of their volleyball program, but hey, their basketball's doing great.
Great to see you as well. Okay. I got a text from someone that watches this show regularly, and it was so kind, it was just, it really made my day. But I'm gonna make a point out of their point. The text was Pat, you teach people to respect and value what they have, recognize their own value, and then share it boldly.
Now, if you're gonna send someone a compliment, you're gonna try and say something nice to people. Say something like that to people. I mean that I floated on air for like 24 hours after the dude sent that, uh, really made my day because it made me know that people are hearing what I'm trying to say. So that was awesome.
But the compliment, while flattering, it ended in a way that made me think and then share it boldly like, Hmm, there's something going on and we're inspiring people to go out and proclaim their difference. I remember when I started my business, I was the classic trap. I was all things to all people, and as I grew, I needed to get more specialized.
I needed to dial in exactly what I do for people. And when you step from this wide angle to proclaiming exactly who you're for, you need to stand up for your value and you need to proclaim. I'm the guy that does the thing. I'm the differentiator. I am talented and good and nice smelling. You have to like tell the world that you're worth something, and as you get closer and closer and closer to that real different differentiator where you're telling the world that you're actually good at something, it feels really risky.
I'm the person or company that does the thing and I'm better than the other people. That takes guts. That takes guts. And if you were like me, it, it takes a while. I'm still not very good at it. I need to get a running start, and you need to stand up behind that proclamation. You can't proclaim that you're great at doing something and then not back it up every time you get a chance to bless the mic as our friend, precious Williams says.
So that takes belief. I got this amazing compliment. The compliment was that we help people stand up for what they believe in. How do we believe what we proclaim? How do you close that gap between what you say and what you actually believe? And I think that requires making a change in the way that you think.
I also think it takes the noticing of the behavior of how you are behaving because belief, like real belief comes with proof. Real belief does not come from going away to a cabin and manifesting for a weekend. That's not belief. That's not proof. Proof comes with evidence, and evidence comes with action.
If you're saying you do one thing for one person and you really wanna believe that that's what you do, you must start behaving and acting that way, and then catch yourself doing it, start doing it, and then your identity will actually follow to go from floating around in the concept land, I'm in concept land.
Let's, let's give you an example. So let's say you are an event planner and your claim to fame is that you bring disconnected, disconnected people together and make 'em feel like family. My events are special because when they come to my events, I make strangers feel like family and you need to make that claim on LinkedIn and TikTok and Instagram and you need to, you know, be resilient when people challenge it.
You need to claim that you do it better than anyone else and that you are the one that can take a disconnected room and make it feel connected. So to write great content about that and shoot videos about that and have one-on-ones where you say you're the person that does it, it's gonna take a lot of confidence and you make it distracted that others do this.
Or maybe I'm not the best in the world, but you gotta ignore all that. You have to believe that you are the one that can do the job. You can make people feel like family. Let's close the gap. The gap starts getting closed. When you start bringing people together, go from proclaiming that you're doing it to literally doing it.
It's simple, small. You don't even have to do it at your own event. You could do it at the next networking event. Oh, hey Steve, have you met Barbara? Awesome. You know, Steve, you were talking about the thing, and you know, Barbara, you do that too, and you can facilitate that relationship. You can do it in virtual meetings.
You can do it in the chat this morning. You could say, Hey, Lynn Corazzi, congratulations on the book. We're all cheering for you. You could go grab link's book, uh, ur, uh, Lynn's book, URL rather, and make a post about it and make Lynn feel like a million bucks and help a guy out who's trying to sell this book.
You can introduce people that need to be introduced. You can just support others. You can do it via email when you're introducing one another in a, a warm intro kind of way. You know, I just thought that, uh, Nikki and Michael should meet one another. So I'm just don't know if there's synergy here, but you're both awesome people and I just want you to know that each other exists.
And the trick is you gotta notice yourself doing all these things. What I recommend, if you need to make a change and you need to start believing that you're the best in the world at whatever the thing is, is that you start doing it and track it. Track it, keep a daily scorecard. Now, this is where a coach that's got his act together would have a download my PDF and sign up for my newsletter, blah, blah, blah.
Okay, fine. It doesn't need to be that. It could be a piece of paper on your desk, and it can be as simple as just ticking the box, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Every time you make someone feel like family, every time you do whatever it is you proclaim that you do, just make little tick at the end of the week.
Count it up. It really can be that simple. When the proof happens, it trains your brain that you're putting wind on the board. You have evidence that you do make people feel like family, that you are good at building relationships, and you say, you know what? This was a good week because I did my differentiator 12 times
evidence and evidential behavior. Then becomes inevitability in you believing in running for office as this true differentiator. You can say over and over and over in your social media that you're the one that makes people feel like family. You can go to a ton of networking events and say, hi, I'm Pat. I make people feel like family.
You can do it until you're blue in the face. If you're not actually doing it, you won't believe it. You won't believe it. Evidence leads to inevitability. Step one, find out what you do for your people. Step two, find out exactly who those people are. Step three, begin performing the actions, even if they're tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny.
And track it. As you track it, you will begin to believe that your differentiator is true, that you actually do this thing for these people. Once you have the proof of concept and the evidence that you can go out and do this, you're now gonna believe it, and the evidence will lead to inevitability owning a position, being the one that does whatever it is.
Is really about behavior change and behavior change is, you know, really simple and really freaking hard to do. How can you lose weight? Eat less. Is that hard? Damn right.
You mean all I gotta do is eat less? Yep. That's it. And you can be skinny, but that's really hard. Uhhuh.
I wanna be the one that makes people feel like family. Cool. You can do that. Is it easy? No.
No, you gotta go do it. You gotta change your behavior and I encourage you to act and track so your evidence becomes inevitable. Catch up on the chat here this morning. Okay. We've got some great stuff going on.
Nikki Lynn shared the link. Awesome. Uh, Nikki and Abby are having a conversation. I love telling people that they're awesome. Is there anything better, Abby, than telling people out of the blue expecting nothing in return? Just to just give a compliment for no reason. Just to say, Hey, you did a great job.
That stuff sticks. People really, really know this. And now look at Abby and Nikki are having a No, you are. I know you are, but what am I? Okay.
They're having a conversation in the chat, which is wonderful. It's time to do the AI story of the day. I, I'm so glad that this exists. I was so happy when I found this video this morning.
This moment captures the experience that I hope you have when you finally start playing with Claude. It is incredible. I'm gonna play this video for you and I will warn you in advance earmuffs. This video is so good. It curses and I'm gonna play it anyway 'cause I don't like to curse on the show. I'll curse every once in a while and maybe something will slip out, but I make a policy of trying not to curse.
So the lady in this video curses. So if you have sensitive ears, I'm just warning you in advance. Now, this is a four minute video. I'm not gonna play all four minutes of the video. I am gonna play like the first two minutes though. Because it's absolute gold. This is what happens when you finally start playing with Claude Cowork and Claude Code.
Check this out.
No, literally, because what the fuck, Claude? What the fuck? Yesterday, no, two days ago, I did not know what GitHub or railway was. I've been trying to build a website since 2018. And I, I know what you're thinking.
Like story. That's almost 10 years ago. I didn't know what those two, um, I don't even know.
Are, are they websites? Are they develop developing apps? I don't even know. They're, I asked Claude to build me the website that I've been trying to build for years, and I knew that it was gonna take a lot of coding. Like I reached out to a, a real human developer several years ago and they were like, yeah, that's gonna cost you somewhere between 15 and $25,000 for me to build for you.
I imagine because it's a lot of code, it's a lot of backend. It's a, it's a lot of different little moving parts. I literally, two days ago, two evenings ago, in two and a half hours, told Claude what I wanted to build it, built it for me, gave me a preview, and I said, okay, change this, this, this, this, this, and this and this.
And they're like, okay, now you have a functioning thing, but there's a couple more steps. You need to add it. You need to deploy it on GitHub and then deploy it on railway, and then it'll process. It literally walked me through last night. Claude and I spent three hours. It walked me through all the steps.
It had to change some code, edit some things. It gave me the whole new package to redeploy re-upload, and then now the motherfucker works. So what the fuck, Claude? In six hours between two evenings, I built a $25,000 website.
I've never coat. And like, and I was like, I, I had to go back to it several times and be like, okay, this isn't working. I think I did something wrong. I think I did the DNS records wrong. And it's like, okay, well let's see where you left off. Tell me what you see when you go here. What does it show you when you do this?
Mm-hmm.
It walked me through how to fix everything. I got stuck probably 15 different times, and I told it what I was seeing and it was like, oh, no big deal. We'll just do this, this, and this. Please enter this exactly. And it's done. And now the fucker's done and built.
That's what's happening. That's what's happening. When people finally, finally switch over to using Claude, I, Claude Cowork. Claude Code is changing my business and her reaction. WTF Claude, I, I want a t-shirt that says WTF, Claude. That's the moment that is waiting for you. When you finally dive in and Abby is exactly right, and now the MFR works. It's so true.
As I'm sitting here trying to explain to you what's going on with the AI installation group, how our businesses are going to change, that video describes it a thousand times better than I do because when you get clawed to do the thing, that's exactly the reaction. Whoa. You just did it. I asked you to do it and you did it.
WTF Claude, I'm gonna tell you about the AI installation group, uh, in just a moment. So if you're curious about joining the AI installation group so you can have your WTF Claude moment, uh, we will definitely talk about that as well. Okay, let's get to our first. Sponsor of the day, and that's our friends at Gen at and, uh, gen Head, excuse me.
Uh, and the idea Slam is coming up as well. Gen Head, they are killing it. You can scale systems and not chaos with our friends at Gen Head built for early stage businesses, gen head systems are designed for founders, solopreneurs, and lean teams who need real momentum, not complex tools that require a full-time operator.
Everything is streamlined, practical, and easy to act on immediately. It's one system. That replaces 10 disconnected tools so you don't have to juggle your CRM and your funnels and your automations and your social media. It's all in one place and it just works. Fewer systems, less chaos, clearer data, better execution.
That's our friends at Gen Head. Check 'em out. Gen head.com. That's gen head.com. Thanks to Gen Head for being a sponsor and a partner on the show.
Okay, let's see what they have to say in the chat here. Lynn and I recommend investing in Claude over chat GBT. It's so much better. Yes, it is so much better.
Claude is absolutely crushing it right now. And you're exactly right. Nikki, can we get a hashtag wtf Claude sticker. Where is Stephanie? Stephanie?
Got eaten by a virus. She's going through. She emailed me over the weekend. She's having major league computer problems. Uh, so that's probably where she is.
But someone reach out to Stephanie.
We need a WTF Claude sticker so we can get that on the air. We're gonna talk about the idea slam. Now let's get creative, shall we, during the idea slam. It's your chance to solve a problem or capture an opportunity, and we talk about real stuff that affect real small business owners. And your role during the Idea Slam is to jump into the chat and give me your feedback as well so we can solve this problem together.
I'll solve it. Live on air without a net. You'll contribute inside the chat and if you want to come on the air with us, you can scan the QR code that's right there, or the link that has now been dropped into the chat and you can click it, come on the air, we'll brainstorm on your business, or you can submit your business challenge or opportunity together anonymously.
That's the idea. Slam. Let's get to it. First idea, slam question of the day. How do you close people?
Without making them feel pressured. Maybe the most common sales question ever. How do you sell stuff without being pushy? There's a balance between inviting someone to say yes to what you're offering them and pushing them into a sale on a sales call, you don't want to invite them to give you their money, but you don't wanna pressure them.
To convince them to do it. So you need to ask them, Hey, will you give me money? But you don't wanna push them into it. It has to become their idea that they decide it's a good idea to give you their money, to make it their idea. You have to make them understand that they're getting a really great deal.
They're going to get excess value outta the partnership. If I give Pat $10, I will get $11 worth of value. More the way that feels great to them and the way that they feel like they're getting the better end of the deal is that they understand your product or service is gonna solve the problem that they have, because sales is simply problem solving.
It is nothing else. Have them share the problem, show that you can solve it, and they will say yes. You don't need to convince them to do it when they believe they're getting a good deal. When people say, I don't wanna be a slimy salesperson, what that tells me is that they need more work on their client discovery calls.
Let's talk about client discovery calls. You meet with a potential client. You haven't made your offer yet, but you have that awesome discovery conversation. You wanna have a conversation with them about everything surrounding the product and service about what you do. What's their current situation?
What is the outcome that they're looking for? One of the questions I like to ask is, what's your magic wand question? Boop, what's your magic wand question? What would be perfect? What would be a dream scenario? What have they already tried to solve that problem, and what budget do they have to make the outcome work?
A lot of us forget that question. Do you have any money? If you can pre-qualify that they have a problem. They have a vision of what success looks like, that they do want it fixed, that they understand how quickly they want it fixed, and they have a budget. Now closing isn't that hard. I wish. I wish I remembered to ask.
The sales, like the the budget question enough, because if you understand what their budget is, you'll get a yes a heck of a lot faster. It's one of those that I forget to ask way too often. Once you have all of those answers, then it's your job to create a proposal that answers all of those questions.
You have this problem, you need it by this time, you have this budget. When you get on the phone, next time you replay their questions. Back to them. You said that you needed this outcome by this timeline inside this budget. Guess what? I happen to have it. Here's how my product will deliver that outcome inside that timeline, inside your budget.
When can we begin? The client feels like, whoa, this person actually to me, and I bet they can solve my problem. It will invite them to give you their money, no convincing necessary. If you gotta convince 'em they're not sold, they told you what they need to hear, and then you just provide it. So if you feel like you are convincing and pressuring people to say yes, beef up your discovery calls.
Ask way more questions than you speak. Way more questions. And you'll feel way less like a slimy salesperson idea. Slam question number one. Alright, slam question number two. How do I get referrals from my clients without begging for them? I think there are two things that get you referrals from clients.
One, what do you need to be in order to be referred? And two, how do you encourage that referral behavior? First part, what do you need to be in order to be referred? You gotta be good. You just have to be good. You have to deliver on your promises, and you have to surpass their expectations. You have to be the type of business and the type of business that others wanna be associated with.
If you are not getting referrals from your clients, maybe you're not good. I know that's harsh. I'm supposed to say, you're great. Everyone gets a cookie. No.
Maybe you suck. Maybe you need to improve your product. That's a you question, but it's possible if you are delivering excess value for them and your clients feel like they got a great deal, now you're ready to be referred.
Let's assume you're already doing all that stuff. Okay, your product is great, cool, but you're still not getting referrals. How do you encourage referral behavior? That can be tricky. Many people will deploy a strategy that I'm not crazy about. So the common advice here is to have a referral program. Hey Steve, I'll give you 15% of the next sale if you refer me.
And that works for some people. I really don't like to do that personally. It hurts your long-term cash flow. It makes it kind of a cash transactional relationship. Uh, it can be motivating for some clients, so it's not bad to have a real referral program, I guess I just don't like to do it. The way that I like to go about it is to build personal relationships with the clients, so gotta be excellent and build a personal relationship with your clients when you get a referral.
Share personal feedback and gratitude with them. It's a softer way to go about it, and it might not scale as much as a true referral program would, but I will tell you a handwritten note when a referral comes your way or an unexpected gift basket in the mail, that will blow the doors off of 10% of the revenue.
If you know something about them personal and, and they get something in the mail that addresses something they enjoy, it's very thoughtful. It shows that you value the relationship. It really helps. How do you get more referrals from your current clients? Be great, exceed their expectations. Nikki says in the chat, under promise and over deliver.
Absolutely that as well, provided your good. Start a referral program where you share cash, that'll motivate some people, but then also have the care for your clients to get to know them personally and do personal gestures and showcase them and their interests when they refer you to other people. It's what works for me.
I hope it works for you. Comments. We have them. Abby shares. There's a difference between asking for a referral and begging.
I always ask. That's true. If you're begging for referrals, it's just kind of sad. Don't be that person. And Nikki says, yeah, don't give the ick the ick.
Don't you hate the ick? I hate the ick.
For sure. Alright, we've got a great story that we're gonna share to end the show today. We have. A big old case of sky justice for the worst people in the world, the people that you would throw out of an airplane. If you could think of the worst behavior on an airplane, what is the worst behavior on an airplane?
Is it bringing Burger King on the airplane? No, although that's bad. Is it? Reclining your seat? Whew.
As a guy with long legs, that's bad, but no, no, no, no, no, no. Both of those are nowhere near the worst behavior on an airplane, and there is sky justice coming for them, and I couldn't be happier. Tell you about that.
After we talk about today's sponsor. It's the AI installation group, WGF Claude. Have you had your WTF Claude moment yet? If you haven't, the AI installation group is for you because I've told you a thousand times I'm gonna make it 1,001. Our business will look different in six months. The A players are lining up right now to get in this group.
You should see the folks that have said yes to this group already. All of the smart kids, all of them. I've got an A list, a conga line of smart kids that have joined the AI installation group. We're, they're so smart and so busy. We're trying to find the first launch date. I think it's gonna be something in early April right now.
'cause we're trying to like manipulate everybody's schedule. We're gonna get together and we're gonna learn all about ai and we're gonna learn about how to turn AI from a chat bot into a part of your business. Eventually building AI agents to automate your work, speed up what you're doing, expand your reach and scope and get that WTF clawed moment.
You know, the AI revolution is here, but the research shows that people don't know where to start. And if you're wondering, I want this, but I don't know where to start, this is where you start. This is where you start. We're gonna run a mastermind with people who are discovering AI and installing it together.
We're gonna run AI slams. Where these folks are getting together and comparing notes and doing show and tell and asking specific questions, and we will solve them with one another. I'm gonna start a new AI trends letter that lets them know what to pay attention to and what not to pay attention to, and they'll get text and phone availability to me when they have questions so they don't get stuck.
Part education, part action. This group is designed to get you moving with ai. So excited. WTF Claude. Click the QR code, get inside the AI installation group before this bad boy takes off and you get left behind. And to those of you that already signed up High five, because man, this is going to be so much fun and a smart kid Conga Line, I'd like to see that.
I'd like to see everybody in this mastermind, literally in a conga line. It would be actually kind of fun closing story today. Is just sky justice. Oh, just, just,
it's so good. Not everything happening at airports right now is bad. It may give you the ick that ICE is patrolling the airports right now, and it's definitely a drag to wait in line for three or four hours to get on your plane. That's bad. However, the worst people in the world, the people you would throw out of a plane if you could, are going to get the justice they deserve.
Of course, I'm talking about the people on an airplane who refuse to wear headphones while they watch videos or TikTok. Those people are the worst people in the world. I don't wanna hear your anything. God made headphones. Put 'em in your ear holes. Turns out that enough of us have complained. United Airlines has updated their carriage policy right inside the thing when you buy a ticket, giving them permission to boot you off the plane.
If you're not wearing headphones when you use your device. Thank you. Sweet baby Jesus. Sweet baby Jesus of headphones. I love you. I love you,
and it gets better. Not only will it kick people off the plane if they're not using headphones, if they refuse to use headphones, the carriage rule states that they can no fly you from a United Airlines if you do it. Kick you off the plane and never let you fly united again. Finally, a good use of the no-fly list finally.
Isn't that fantastic? We should brainstorm a bunch of other things that should go into the carriage policy, like taking your shoes off, bro.
No. Just, just come on, put 'em back on. Or the other one, oh, see, now you're gonna get me going about, it's your fault. Now you're gonna get me going about airplanes. The other thing that people should be noli for is that a verb? Noli, we're making it one. The other thing that people should be noli for, plane arrives, gets to the gate, boop, everybody takes their seatbelt off.
And somehow in the last few years. People just decide a hundred years of flying precedent be damned or however long it's been. I'm just gonna walk down the aisle to get to the door. I might be in G 46, but damn it, I'm getting off this plane first. No fly, no shoes, no fly.
Cut the line. No fly. The other thing that's happening.
On Southwest Airlines right now, they just switched to assigned seating. They're having a crisis. Have you flown Southwest? Since they changed to assigned seating, they're having a crisis. They don't know what to do. The crisis is people are getting on the plane and we are so lazy. People will get on the plane and find the first available spot and stow their bag and then go back to aisle 18.
Sit down because they don't wanna carry their bag from aisle th seat three to row 18. When all these people get on the plane, all of the overhead bins are taken in the front of the plane, and Southwest is having an absolute crisis because of it. It's another thing. No fly Whoop, no fly Packers fan. No fly.Get outta here.
I'm not kidding about that one, by the way. I should say I'm kidding. I'm not kidding. No fly. It's been a fun show today.
Thanks for tuning in, by the way. It's nice to see you. I hope you had a great weekend. I had a great weekend. My son came home from college.
Uh, we ate some Lu Malnati's pizza last night.
God bless. Oh, so good. No control. When the Lu Malnati's Deep Dish pizza comes out, it's just, uh, it's a special moment. And we got a new member yesterday, very, very excited. Uh, we had a new member from North Carolina join the group just out of the blue, just, oh, hey, here's a new member from out of the blue in North Carolina.
Awesome. Welcome to the group. If you're looking to understand exactly what is at stake, if you're running your business by yourself, we've got a new calculator as well. The small business owners community exists to help you make better decisions so you can save money, make fewer mistakes, and make business decisions that make you more money as well.
So what's the cost of running your business by yourself? Well, I made a calculator, Claude, WETF, Claude. I made a calculator that helps you figure out the price and the money that you're losing every month because you're making decisions with your gut instinct with no. Feedback from other entrepreneurs inside the small business owners community.
You're gonna be surrounded by other owners who have done whatever it is you're trying to do before. And you can say, is this a good idea? And someone in the group has had to do that before because when you say to yourself, is this a good idea? And you have no one around you, you gotta roll the dice and you gotta try and make a decision.
And sometimes it's right and sometimes it's not. And if you don't get feedback, there's risk involved. It's the big benefit of the group. It's a group that actually wants you to win, will actually give you support, and we don't spam each other and sell things to one another. I have an unspoken policy in the small business owners community that we will allow you to promote your stuff.
Like if you come in and spam the group, spam the group with your stuff. Okay, that's cool. I won't kick you out right away. I'll mock you and then I'll kick you out. So we can have some entertainment. So inside the small business owners community, you can share what you're doing on Wednesdays. That's our self-promotion day.
But you're not gonna get slapped with everyone's promotions left and right. It's only $19 a month. It's the best investment in small business. Click the QR code and become a member and find out what you're talking about here. The small business owners community is a very special place, and I will share one more thing.
Speaking of the small business owners community, our conference wait list has gone live. In the middle of September, we will have our sixth annual in-person conference here in the Milwaukee area. And what's exciting is that it's gonna be 200 small business owners all in the same place, working on what it takes to make more money in our business, collaborating with one another, learning from one another.
It's the highlight of the year. Here's the downside. By September, the small business owners community will be over 200 people. We're at 165 right now. And 75 of the 200 tickets are already spoken for from VIP's, sponsor partners, people that pre-registered. So now I got a problem. 165 people in the group.
You the viewer of this show. And I've only got 115 tickets left. 125 tickets left. So here's the way we're gonna solve it. Register for the wait list tickets go on sale May 13th.
The community gets access. On the 11th, the wait list gets access on the 12th. If there's anything left, it will go to the public on the 13th.If you're not yet a community member and you wanna come to the conference, get on the wait list. You'll get 24 hours access. It costs you nothing to get on the wait list.
There's no creepy data scraping or stuff happening. Just get on the list so you'll get access to. Get your ticket to the sixth annual conference before they go on sale May 13th.
