# Small Business Owners Community (SBOC) > Nobody taught you how to run a business. So you've been guessing, and guessing is the most expensive way to run a business. The Small Business Owners Community is where small business owners get help from other owners: every week, a room full of owners works your problem with you. Owners only, nobody pitching, $19 a month. Small Business Owners Community (SBOC). Founded June 1, 2020, by Pat Miller, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Nationwide, on Zoom. It's Your Dream, Don't Grow It Alone(R). ## What it is - A private community for business owners (solo up to about twenty employees), run on Mighty Networks at https://sboc.smallbusinesscommunity.com - The SBOC work week: Monday set your weekly goal, Tuesday show us what you're working on, Wednesday community co-working, Thursday the Idea Slam, Friday afternoon the Finish Line - Monthly: Coffee Club, members matched one to one for a 30-minute conversation - Yearly: the SBOC Conference, every September in Brookfield, Wisconsin - Member directory, legal, tech, and bookkeeping hotlines, a 24/7 message board, and a Welcome Buddy for the first 30 days - Price: $19 a month or $190 a year, no contract, no other tiers. Sponsors and events fund the group. ## Idea Slam Every Thursday afternoon, owners meet on Zoom for the Idea Slam. One owner brings a real problem, and a room full of owners works it with them. Every Slam is written up, anonymized, for members only, so the room gets smarter every week. When: Thursday afternoons on Zoom. The start time rotates between 1pm and 4pm Central. Guests: Any member can bring any business owner to one Idea Slam as their guest. No permission needed, and nobody pitches the guest. Come to an Idea Slam: https://smallbusinesscommunity.com/idea-slam/ ## Businessing Businessing is the weekly show where small business owners figure out what to do next. New episode every Monday morning. Hosted by Pat Miller: https://smallbusinesscommunity.com/the-show/ ## Who it is for Business owners. Not employees, not people planning to start a business, not anyone whose first move is a pitch, and not anyone who isn't ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. Everyone in the group has something to sell; help comes first. ## Three rules Bring what you're stuck on. Show up and help. Check in once a week to support your fellow members. ## The six questions The group is built around six questions every owner keeps answering: What do I sell, and who's buying? How do I get leads, and get them to say yes? What do I do each day, and what do I hand off? What do I stop doing? How do I read my numbers? How do I keep going when it gets hard? ## Pat Miller Pat Miller, founder of the Small Business Owners Community, where owners get help from other owners.
